Friday The 13th Filming Locations Blairstown NJ. This was a while back when I was in Jersey and scouting locations I have seen is issues of Wierd NJ.
I have always been a huge fan of Horror movies and Friday the 13th is no exception. As usual, I just do my thing and do not bother the locals. I am sure I am not the first person that goes to certain places and explores the local lore. So this location is no different than any other place we go to.
Crystal Lake’s history of murder doesn’t deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people — Jack (Kevin Bacon), Alice (Adrienne King), Bill (Harry Crosby), Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) and Ned (Mark Nelson) — pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. As they’re slashed, shot and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent.
Being 9 years old and my sister and her friends talking about going to see this in the movies all week. She and her friends were 6 years older than me, not to mention could actually get in the movie theater to see the movie. I wanted to go so friggin bad I was that creepy horror movie kid that everyone look at like. Oooook this kid is going to be a Serial Killer one day.
Fast forward to Saturday night and my sister and her friends came home and were non stop talking about this movie. Sitting in the living room hanging on every word they were saying. I was in geek heaven and luckily for me.
About a year or two later we had gotten cable T.V. and what were they playing 24/7 right into the family living room? Friday the 13th! now I got the normal you can’t watch it but. Luckily for me everyone in my family were very heavy sleepers soooo.
As soon as everyone went to bed I snuck into the living room and turned on that magical picture box and there was my movie. Which actually sorta kinda backfired on me.
You see we had a huge back yard and well at night it was very very dark. So yea I was sorta kinda afraid to be back there when the sun fell heh heh.
Now I hope to go back in the Summer time and do a better review and see more of the camp.
